Sakura Season in Osaka - Print
About This Piece
Part of the Japan Collection inspired by my travels there in 2016. This piece shows a view of the famous Osaka Castle from the angle of Nishonomaru Park. Sakura (the Japanese name for Cherry Blossom) season occurs in the months of spring. It depicts the earlier parts of the season when the trees are starting to fully bloom but winter is still visible. I particularly love how the sakura’s are in full bloom at the bottom, half bloomed on the left while the branches on the right are still naked. It’s very symbolic of how there is still space to grow.
Light and airy with metallic details, this piece will make a statement in any room. Particularly one where you’ll want to induce a feeling of zen in the space.

The finer details
The subtle colour palette of sky blue and mint green compliment each other so well, yet the dash of bold black branches adds a contrast that completely draws in viewer.
Each print is hand finished in gold ink making each one unique in their own way. It feels so opulent when the sunlight hits.
